I’m Steve Hammond, a Signature Scratchboard Artist (SSA) with the International Society of Scratchboard Artists, living and working in the Pacific Northwest. While I specialize in black-and-white scratchboard, I also explore painting in bold, exaggerated colors, using vibrant hues to heighten emotion and bring scenes to life. Through both mediums, I capture the intricate details and essence of people and wildlife, exploring complex emotions and the raw beauty of nature. Being recognized as an award-winning artist is deeply humbling and motivates me to keep pushing the boundaries of my craft. My work is represented by Barlow Gallery in Tacoma, Washington, and I proudly serve on the boards of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists and the Peninsula Art League.
