Unleashing the power of black-and-white artistry, I am Steve Hammond, a proud Signature Scratchboard Artist (SSA) with the renowned International Society of Scratchboard Artists. With each stroke, I breathe life into intricate details and capture the essence of people and animals in a way that mesmerizes the viewer.
My journey as an artist has been fueled by passion, dedication, and an unwavering pursuit of perfection. Armed with a scratchboard as my canvas and a sharp tool as my instrument, I create pieces that transcend boundaries and invite deep reflection.
My art is not for the faint of heart. It explores challenging subject matter, delving into the complexities of human emotion and the untamed beauty of wildlife. Through my work, I strive to evoke powerful emotions and leave a lasting impression.
The recognition I’ve received as an award-winning artist has been humbling. It stands as a testament to my commitment to excellence and innovation in this captivating medium.
Steve’s work is represented by Barlow Gallery in Tacoma, Washington. He also serves on the board of the International Scratchboard Society of Artists and the Peninsula Art League in Washington.
